How Do I Know if I Need a New Roof?
How old is my roof? Although some roofs are built with materials rated for thirty or even fifty years, most roofs are built with a life expectance of fifteen to twenty years. If your roof is more than fifteen to twenty years old it may be time for a new roof.
Do discolored spots appear on the inside of my ceiling after it rains?
Water spots on your ceiling can be indicators of leaks, which can often be repaired without need for a new roof.
Are there visibly rotted or loose tiles on my roof? Have the tiles curled up, or worse have some blown off in high winds?
Missing or damaged tiles can allow water and other destructive elements in, speeding the deterioration of your roof.
Has flashing or caulking on my roof cracked, loosened, or disappeared completely? Damaged flashing and caulking also undermine the integrity of you roof and can cause further damage. |
